Hello, I’m Freya the owner and founder of The Walking Hound, providing professional dog walking and pet care services, based in West Wickham, Cambridgeshire and covering the surrounding villages. West Wratting, Weston Colville, Withersfield, Great and Little Thurlow, Great Bradley, Carlton and Brinkley, Westley Waterless to name a few.

Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and my passion for caring for them has only grown since welcoming my miniature dachshund Ernie into the family. Spending time training, walking and exploring with him every day has strengthened my understanding of dogs and reinforced my commitment to providing the same love, care and attention to every pet I look after.

Growing up on a farm I was surrounded by dogs, horses, chickens and small animals from an early age. Spending time outdoors and caring for animals wasn’t just part of daily life, it became a genuine passion that has stayed with me ever since.

After completing my A-levels, I wasn’t entirely sure which career path to follow. What I did know was that I wanted to work with animals and build a small business around something I truly love. That’s what inspired me to create The Walking Hound.

I understand that trusting someone with your beloved pet is a BIG decision. That’s why I pride myself on being conscientious, trustworthy and reliable. Whether it’s a daily dog walk, a puppy visit, or caring for your pet while you’re away, I treat every animal as if they were my own.
